Protests against the terms of the Illegal Construction Bill that were not in the interest of Gandhinagar Market
1(a). In 2006, on the orders of the Supreme Court, a three-member Monitoring Committee
was formed. This committee was formed to seal all the illegal constructions in Delhi, which it did during that time. This triggered a stir among the traders of the entire Delhi.
Under the direction of the President of Ashok Bazar Foundation, Mr Kanwal Kumar Balli ji, the three organisations of Gandhi Nagar Market- Ashok Bazar,
Ramnagar and Subhash Road Market participated in the protests from 30, and 31 October 2006 to 01 November 2006.
All the shopkeepers of the city closed their shops and institutes and staged a protest.
Some success was eminent to some extent.
All the shopkeeper brothers of Gandhinagar Market gave it all in these protests along with the essential dignitaries of the market like Mr Madan Lal Khurana ji, Mr Sunil Jain “Pappi” ji, Mr Ashok Jain "Jaichanda", Mr Man Mohan Mehra, Mr Naresh Sikka, Mr Anand Jain,
Mr. Deepak Sakhuja, MMrG.S. Mr Chawla, Mr Satish Khurana, Mr Anil Jain "CityKing" ji, Mr Ramesh Garg and Mr Vidya Sagar Jain.
